THE FACE SHOP Lovely me:ex My Lips Eat Cherry Aqua Tint

Greetings :)

As the first post of my blog, I'm going to review a product by The Face Shop because well, I suck at introductions and I'm also really shy sometimes. >.<

Without further ado, let's just jump straight to the review.

The Face Shop Lovely me:ex My Lips Eat Cherry Aqua Tint functions as a lip and cheek stain and I must say, it gives the prettiest stain ever! My upper lip is discoloured due to growing up as a sun loving creature so most lip stains would only give colour to my bottom lip. However, this product stains my upper lip too. :)

A bunch of Korean writing I wish I could read.

Packaging: LOVE! Extremely travel friendly and lightweight. The cap is also quite secure so I carry this everywhere with me without having to worry about spillage. It has a doe foot applicator which allows good control of the amount of product used. This tint stains my fingers like crazy when I blend it into my cheeks and sometimes lips so I really appreciate it on the days where I just want to use it as a lip stain without having the bloody fingers of a murderer.

The Face Shop only sells this lip tint in one colour which is Juicy Red. :(

Texture: As you can see from the content in the bottle, the texture of the lip tint is rather thick compared to regular tints. Its consistency in the bottle is similar to lip gloss but runnier. It is like aqua gel.

My lips look pink due to the orange lighting. It is actually more reddish with fuschia undertones.

Moisturization: It is supposed to be formulated as a moisturizing lip tint, hence the gel like texture but as with most lip tints, it is a tad drying on the lips. To be fair, I do have slightly dry lips in general so that may be a reason. I tried this over vaseline, it did take the moisture of the vaseline away but I didn't have to put any lip balm over it and I was good to go.

Performance: LOVE the colour payoff. Whether it is used as a lip or a cheek stain, it gives off the most natural flush of colour. If you're tanner, dab the stain on your cheeks to spread it so that it gives off a better colour. On the lips, blend as fast as possible or you will end up with blotches here and there if you apply it unevenly.

Smell/Taste: I admit, this is the best tasting lip stain I have ever found. It doesn't have a strong smell or taste but it is pleasant (It tastes slightly weird as with most lip products but with one coat, it isn't that bad). I usually dislike cherries and I'm extremely sensitive to smells but I really love the smell of it so even if you are sensitive to smells or cherries in general, just trust me and give this a shot :) It doesn't exactly remind me of cherries for some reason.

Staying power: Whenever I apply 3 coats of this, my lips are stained all day even with eating and drinking in between. Let the coats dry before you layer them for an intense red with fuschia undertones. I have the habit of biting or licking my lips a lot and it the stain just doesn't budge. On the cheeks, it stayed on the whole day too.

Three coats on my olive skin

Reccomended?
DEFINITELY. It looks very natural and it is practical even when it is hot and humid. It's great for those of you who are into the whole gradient lips trend or and it shows up even on darker lips. I bought it for RM19.90 (USD6.11/6802 won)

Please note that if you intend to only wear one coat of this on your lips and cheeks, it will wear off after five hours or so with eating and drinking.

There's a buy 1 free 1 promotion for all makeup items till 1 Sept in all The Face Shop stores in Malaysia. I got one of their eyeshadows called Toast for free!
